The Importance of Preventative & Regular Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance for your vehicle is important to keep up with, as it will increase the efficiency of how your vehicle runs, and drives, and increase the longevity of your vehicle's major components. In this article, you will find several reasons why you will want to and must get into the habit of Preventative Maintenance for your vehicle.

  1. Safety: Regular maintenance helps to ensure that your vehicle is operating safely. For example, here at Sacramento Specialty Automotive, we have seen numerous occasions where a customer comes in stating that their vehicle is taking a lot longer to stop when exiting the highway, or their vehicle is pulling them into the next lane over! This is a very unsafe driving condition caused by neglecting regular maintenance and now the repairs are costly because we waited too long to address them.
  2. Reliability: Preventative maintenance will save you from unexpected part failures, causing breakdowns and other mechanical failures. When you hear a new noise that your vehicle did not make before, or something just doesn't feel right, bring it to Sacramento Specialty Automotive so that we can address small issues before they become larger problems!
  3. Performance: Anyone that has purchased a vehicle, typically chooses that particular vehicle due to the amenities and efficiency the vehicle has to offer. If you are not keeping up with your regular maintenance, your vehicle is not performing as efficiently as possible! For example, if feel that you are not achieving the gas mileage the manufacturer states that you should be, multiple variables under preventative maintenance could be the underlying issue such as deflated tires, poor alignment, exhaust leaks, and dirty fuel injectors!
  4. Resale Value: A well-maintained vehicle will always outshine a dusty and neglected used vehicle. If you plan to re-sell your vehicle in the future, a history of preventative maintenance and regular maintenance will give the vehicle a higher resale value. Regular maintenance will protect your investment.

Overall, Preventative Maintenance is important to keep your vehicle on the road and safe to drive and perform efficiently, and reliably and to avoid costly repairs.
